2008 Summer Employment

The Town of Ja mestown Parks & Recreation Depart ment is seeking applicants for the following seasonal positions:

Fort Getty Night Security/Maintenance: Hours are Thursday through Sunday night, 3:00 PM – 11:00 PM. Salary range: $10.50 – $11:50 per hour. Must be at least 18 years of age and a high school graduate. Priority given to applicants with prior security experience. Criminal background check required.

Lifeguards: 25-40 hours per week that may require working on weekends.

Must be RI DEM Surf Certified and complete all certification require ments.

Salary range: $10-12.00 per hour.

Mackerel Cove Parking Attendant: Part-ti me, approximately 16-24 hours per week, may be required to work weekends, Salary range $8.00 - $9.00 per hour.

Summer Playground Counselor: 20-40 hours per week, $8.50 per hour. Criminal background check required.

Sum mer Playground Supervisor: 40 hours per week, must have prior experience working with children, salary range $10.00 - $12.00 an hour. Criminal background check required.

Teen Center Supervisor: Weekday afternoons and so me nights and weekends. Applicants must be 18 years of age and a high school graduate. Salary range $10-12.00 per hour. Criminal background check required.

Youth Litter and Conservation Corps: Must be 14 to 16 years old, 20-40 hours per week, $8.00 an hour, so me weekends required.

Applications available ONLY at the Ja mestown Recreation Center, 41 Conanicus Avenue, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled.
