- $15 per season (residents)
- $30 per season (nonresidents)
Beach stickers are available to Jamestown Residents Only and can be purchased at the Recreation Center (41 Conanicus Ave.). You MUST present one of the following to obtain a sticker:
1. A CAR REGISTRATION (this even applies to out of state vehicles);
2. Proof of residency if the car registration is out of state (copy of tax bill or deed);
3. A lease agreement if renting for more than 30 days. Leases for less than 30 days will NOT be issued a sticker.
Sec. 42-62. Parking at Jamestown Shores (or "Head's") Beach.
(a) Definitions. The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this section, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
Bona fide resident means any person who has established legal residence in the town.
Taxpayer means any person owning property and paying local real property taxes of at least $250.00 to the town.
(b) Required; issuance. Between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. of each day between May 15 and October 15 of each year, no motor vehicle shall park upon that portion of Jamestown Shores Beach designated by the town council as a parking area unless it displays a current resident sticker or a current nonresident sticker. Nontransferable resident stickers for the privilege of parking motor vehicles upon the parking areas of Jamestown Shores Beach; Mackerel Cove Beach; and Fort Getty shall be issued annually to a bona fide resident or taxpayer, upon payment of the fee specified in appendix C. The applicant for such a sticker shall have the burden of proving such facts that will establish his status as a bona fide resident or taxpayer to the satisfaction of the recreation director. Nontransferable nonresident stickers for the privilege of parking motor vehicles upon the parking area of Jamestown Shores Beach shall be issued annually to a nonresident who is not a taxpayer, upon payment of the fee specified in appendix C.
(c) Restrictions. A sticker holder shall be subject to all restrictions and regulations which have been or may be ordered by the town council through the town manager limiting the ti me for parking, or dealing with any other matter affecting the operation of the beach.
(d) Suspension and revocation. A permit issued under the provisions of this division is a revocable privilege and may be suspended at any ti me by the town administrator. Such suspension shall continue until the next regular or special meeting of the town council when the permit may be revoked or the suspension lifted at the pleasure of the town council.
