ABOUT
US - We:
were founded in 1948
provide emergency service at no charge to island residents
respond to approximately 600 calls each year
provide both emergency and non-emergency care for the
Jamestown Community
work with the Jamestown Fire and Police Departments
as part of an Emergency Medical Team
provide continuing medical care during transport to
the hospital
are staffed entirely by volunteer Emergency Medical
Technicians (EMT) and qualified drivers —with back-up
crews available. EMTs pass a State of R. I. approved training
program (140 hours), completing both written and practical
exams. EMT’s adhere to the R. I. Prehospital Care
Protocols and Standing Orders. Both EMT’s and drivers
certify yearly in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
OUR VEHICLES:
Unit 10 - Primary Vehicle – 2003 McCoy-Miller
Ambulance
Unit 11 - Secondary Vehicle – 1998 McCoy-Miller
Ambulance
Both vehicles are licensed by the R.I. Department of
Health —Division of Emergency Medical Service, and
carry the required equipment for a BASIC LIFE SUPPORT
unit. They were purchased and equipped with the help of
your contributions.
OUR
BUILDING
on Knowles Court was erected in 1973 and is currently undergoing
renovation. Your donations help to make this possible.

LOAN CLOSET:
Crutches, canes, walkers, wheelchairs, commodes, shower chairs,
etc. for loan to Jamestown residents free of charge.
